Het atelier Web en Interactief Design organiseerde een projectweek met de Amerikaanse kunstenaar Evan Roth rond urban hacking en viral media strategieën in samenwerking met timelab.
Deze masterclass ging in op het fenomeen ‘urban hacking’ vanuit diverse invalshoeken. Er werden werkmethodes aangereikt uit de street art en computer hacking maar ook de free culture, open source en copyleft-bewegingen waren inspirerend om de stad te gaan herdenken (en herwerken).

DIY Sewerparty
Description: A quick guide on how to make your own SewerParty project. I made this one in a couple of hours, with a minimum of equipment, so there’s definately room for improvement. Go wild.
The entire thing is basically just a cereal box with the speaker and soundchip of a hallmark greeting card in, a small circuit of blinking LED’s on top, and tin foil on the sides to reflect the LED’s when you look down the sewer grate. Of course, you can put some more powerfull LED’s on top, and if you cut the cord going from the chip to the speaker, you can ‘plug in’ your mp3. You just need to cut the cord of some old earbuds, strip the wire and solder it to the speakerwires. Definately test this before you solder, make sure you get sound.
